Behn Vintage, Model D

Model D combines a long bore with a unique “S-curve” baffle that balances a rollover at the tip with added depth at the bottom. The throat is narrow, with a slightly “A-framed” tilt. Due to the chamber’s larger volume coupled with the bore’s added length, Model D plays with flexibility, and depth. Its sound is concentrated, and has a somewhat larger body, and added brilliance to the core focal point.

Inspiration for model D comes from a collaborative effort with friend Ronald Reuben (former clarinetist of the Philadelphia Orchestra). Please note that Model D is an original design and it is not a copy of any one mouthpiece. Its design combines our research of many fine Henri Chedeville mouthpieces with our collective concepts.

Model D is made from Behn proprietary rod rubber.
