Model B combines our standard throat dimension with a moderate baffle radius to yield a highly resonant sound that is concentrated and focused. This quick responding mouthpiece blends tonal purity with flexibility.  Due to its lively sound, this design is an excellent orchestral choice. 

The sound as produced on many fine Kaspar designs was the inspiration for this mouthpiece.  Please note that Model B is an original design and it is not a copy of any one Kaspar mouthpiece.  Its design combines our research of many Frank and Frank L Kaspar mouthpieces with our own concepts.

A note about reeds and Behn Vintage designs

Behn Vintage mouthpieces are made with balanced facings, responsive material, and designs that invite efficient tone production.  These design elements can create a different feel than you may be used to. 

To help facilitate your adjustment period, we invite you try our mouthpieces with slightly lighter reeds than you may be used to.  Once reeds are fitted to a Behn Vintage, we believe you will find a new level of resonance that is unlike any mouthpiece you have ever played.
