I purchased this set of clarinets from Lohff and Pfeiffer at the Reno ICA conference a three years ago. They are wonderful clarinets.
I purchased them for a couple of primary reasons. I wanted Buffet's Greenline material because it is better in difficult climatic conditions. In my orchestra, there's an annoying cold draft... And I wanted Buffet's flagship Tosca for the full, even, warm, and focused sound that is unique within their lineup.
These instruments tune great, they are flexible, even, and responsive. Their sounds are full, warm, and a bit less zingy than other Buffet options.
They have been setup with Lohff & Pfeiffer's unique "Silent Pads" and the instruments have been regulated for an even and light action. They play great, and are ready to go - no need to fuss with further expense to repad, or restore - just open the chase, put them together, and play.... that's it.
Note: There is some tarnish on the keys which can be easily removed with a silver-cloth. The cork on the bottom of the bottom joint on the A clarinet has a small piece that broke off, but it still functions properly so I had been using without concern.
I've moved to a different brand, and while I still love these instruments, they are too valuable to just have sit in a cabinet. These amazing clarinets need a good home.
